About
qbirr is a small team building the verification layer Ethiopian commerce should have had years ago.
Every Ethiopian merchant we know has the same problem: customers pay via CBE, Telebirr, Awash, or one of half a dozen wallets, then the merchant manually checks each transaction in a separate app, on a separate phone, on a separate weekend. The receipt arrives as a screenshot — easily faked, often reused, occasionally just for someone with a similar account name.
We built qbirr because we lived this. The same API every bank already exposes for its own customers can verify receipts in real time. We do that, parse the result, and hand you a single yes/no for any of seven providers.
That's it. No banking license, no holding funds, no escrow. Just verification — done properly, instantly, for every Ethiopian rail.
